This pairing is a match made in heaven, with two of Denmark's most sought after artists teaming up for a collaborative EP of new songs. Jacob David, star of the modern classical and piano world, provides the instrumentation for a collection of lullabies by crooner and producer Mattis. The two became fathers in 2022, and for Mattis it was a rollercoaster of emotions with several hospital trips to the intensive care unit for the first month after the birth. A year down the road and everyone is safe and sound, but the experience left a lasting impact and inspired the songs on this EP. Mattis wrote these tunes in his living room next to his sleeping child and newly pregnant partner. These songs are about providing a safe and calm space for your family, about your parents telling you that everything is going to be alright. This collection is stripped down and intimate, with a tender vulnerability in Mattis' crooning accompanied by David's warm felted piano and tasteful string arrangements. These lullabies are sure to wrap you in a warm blanket as you drift to sleep.
